From the Field to Forever: An Epic Engagement Proposal to Remember

A marriage proposal is one of the most sentimental, significant moments in any couple's life, therefore it's important to choose the perfect time and location for such an event. On January 1, 2023, New Years Day during one of the most epic football games of the season... The San Francisco 49ers vs the Las Vegas Raiders...my wonderful fiance', Sean, proposed to me.

Before I share the story of the proposal, let me provide you with a little bit of a background. Sean and I first started dating back in 2021, and football has always played a huge role in our relationship. One of our first dates was watching the Superbowl together and from that point on, all of our Sundays from September-February have been dedicated to what we call our 'Sunday Funday' Football Days. My family and I have always been die hard 49ers fans whereas Sean and his family are die hard Raider fans. Despite our teams being Bay Area rivals, we have always bonded over the sport, making this proposal the perfect way to celebrate our love.

We started our morning at the Luxor Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip where we got Starbucks and mimosas prior to walking to the Allegiant Stadium. Sean and I were with his brother and his fiancee' which helped keep the secret hidden very well. In my eyes, we were going to the stadium a little bit earlier to go onto the field with our field passes as Sean's family has amazing connections with the Raiders. We walked together to the stadium and was greeted by security and other staff members who escorted us onto the side of the field. I was intrigued as this was my first time being out on a football field despite all of the previous games I have attended. The 49ers players were preparing right there in front of me; even Nick Bosa waved at me!

Soon after that, we were asked to come out onto the end zone to take pictures. One would think I had a slight idea at this point... WRONG. I had absolutely no idea what was about to happen. I was just really grateful they were allowing us to take pictures out on the field. It all happened so fast...one minute we were taking pictures, the next I saw the love of my life on one knee right before me. The crowd was cheering, and NBC Sports Bay Area was there recording with their video cameras, but I felt as if it was only Sean and I in that stadium. The energy was electric and the proposal could not have been any more perfect.

And of course my answer was YES!!! After saying yes and giving Sean the biggest hug and kiss ever, I turned around and saw my entire family and Sean's entire family down on the field with us! Sean was able to get my parents and brother tickets to the game along with field passes and he did the same for his family as well. He pulled this proposal off so well, I cannot give him enough credit. We went into the VIP lounges and the Raiders staff provided us with 1942 tequila shots and Don Perignon champagne to celebrate our moment. After celebrating, we went to our seats and enjoyed watching the 49ers vs. Raiders game. Not to mention that the game was SO INTENSE! It was neck and neck up until the end in overtime when the 49ers kicked a field goal to win it all. It was a beautiful and unforgettable moment that brought tears to everyone's eyes and I felt incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful fiance'. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with him!
